A laminar airflow ceiling provides sterile unidirectional airflow and protects the work area from pathogenic microorganisms, mechanical particles and hazardous substances that can harm human health. The equipment inactivates all types of microorganisms (viruses, bacteria, fungal spores), including those resistant to harsh ultraviolet radiation and ozone (for example, Mycobacterium tuberculosis).

The Airlife LAM 3001 laminar airflow unit provides:

  • air filtration grade H14,
  • air disinfection rate: 99.9%,
  • inactivation of at least 99% of microorganisms on filters,
  • at least 98% efficiency at removing all unpleasant odors and toxic chemicals from the supply air.

The area of the laminar field of an Airlife LAM 3001 is 5.4 m2, which can protect the entire aseptic surgery space, including tables for instruments and materials, as well as an unoccupied area for operating room personnel dressed in sterile clothing and for transferring sterile materials). Most often, the Airlife LAM 3001 is used to clean and disinfect air in Group-3 and Group-5 medical rooms (according to GOST 52539–2006):

  • Operating rooms with unidirectional airflow with a smaller cross-sectional area than for Group-1 rooms (for performing endoscopic operations; endovascular interventions; other medical and diagnostic manipulations with small surgical fields; hemodialysis, plasmapheresis, etc.; caesarean section operations; and sampling of cord blood, bone marrow, adipose tissue, etc. in order to subsequently isolate stem cells).
  • Rooms with increased cleanliness requirements without unidirectional airflow (including: wards for patients after organ transplant operations; wards for burn patients; preoperative and other rooms leading to operating rooms; dressing rooms; maternity units; post-anesthesia wards; intensive care units; neonatal units, storerooms for sterile materials, wards for postoperative patients (including for patients transferred from intensive care units; wards for debilitated or seriously ill non-surgery patients with general physical conditions).
  • Spaces for infected patients (isolation rooms), wards for patients with suspected infections, including airborne infections; dressing rooms for patients with purulent infection.
  • Operating rooms for patients with purulent infections, patients with anaerobic infections, etc.

IMPORTANT! In rooms for infected patients (isolation rooms), the priority is to protect staff and other patients. The air from these rooms must not flow into adjacent rooms. Accordingly, for this group of rooms, we recommend installation of an Airlife KFU2-150 duct system for cleaning and disinfecting supply and exhaust air, and use of the Airlife S330L, Airlife S-80, and Airlife S-45M recirculation systems.
